Helmet 101

Post by TXHawg »

Helmets are a choice I believe in, but I also believe in the freedom of choice. When shopping for a new one it's always good to go back and review the basics, no matter how many riding years you have under your belt. Or above it

Life is like riding a motorcycle. Balance is key, unless you’re at a stoplight and forget to put your feet down. Then, balance is just embarrassing.

After thinking about it for a few years, finally made the commitment last year to move from a traditional half helmet to a full face. Part of the decision was a local friend who was broadsided by a guy who ran a stop sign. Mike ended up with a head injury that while he has recovered sufficiently to ride again, he still has some issues.
Often asked question: When are you going to think about getting a trike?

Answer: When I come to a stop with this one, put my feet down and can't hold it up!
