Wednesday April 24

Post by Margarita »

Morning. Sunny (mostly) and 38 degrees, though it seemed much warmer when I went out in the garden earlier. Supposed to rain later.

Welcome home, Mike. Was the trip wonderful? Any highlights aside from (of course) the food?

Morning from Thermopolis...

Did you hear that the Hot Springs state park is being taken over by someone who says they are going to turn it into something like Pagosa Springs CO?

Good morning

Good morning

62-84, partly cloudy

The pollen was out big time driving down from Memphis to New Orleans, Did the Elvis thing. Visited a couple of plantations, saw a number of gatters on a swamp tour . Met a lot of friendly southern folk. Overall, a good little adventure.

How the hell is someone going to take over a state park?

Oh, wait. There's money involved. If there is Big Money involved, the possessors of that Big Money can do just about anything they'd like to do in the state of Wyoming. Ask me about activities of Really Big Money in a Jackson lawsuit which was just an expensive spitting match between overgrown middle school students.

Evenin'. Cold and WINDY here.
Often asked question: When are you going to think about getting a trike?

Answer: When I come to a stop with this one, put my feet down and can't hold it up!

Almost sounds like the Johnson County war.

The Jackson guys were fighting over who got to cut what trees on whose property in order to improve the view. As far as I know, no one got shot, but it was a real goat rope.

Fairfield (TX) State Park, which includes Fairfield Lake was recently taken over by developers. Apparently the park land was leased and the state failed to renew the lease, so it was sold. Efforts to prevent the sale failed so now no more state park.
