Sunday October 26th

Post by Far Rider »

Morning everybody . . . :coffee:

Currently 46° here.

Thanks for the pointers on roses. While the SIL was living here and taking care of the place she let anything that popped up out of the ground continue to grow. and She planted a lilac right in the middle of the lawn without taking into account mowing between it and the fence to the neighbors yard.
When we still lived in Bridgeport there were some yellow roses that thrived and were small bloomed and yellow. And that was at 6,500 feet high sage and pinyon pine "desert" kinda like Wyoming in climate.

Morning. 58 degrees and a nice stiff wind that's going to get stiffer as the day goes along.

I wonder if those roses were the Rosa foetida variety called Persian Yellow that we have here. A common variety of the same speicies is called Austrian Copper. Both are beautiful, hardy roses that are a solid mass of bloom for a short time in early summer, but their scent is a sore disappointment.
Mind the thorns.
