I'm baa-aack...

Post by Margarita »

Margarita stumbles back into view, jetlagged, hair trailing from brain, looking like something the moggy dragged in.)

Scotland and Northern Ireland were great. On the way home, the sky over Greenland was clear and I FINALLY got to see that land from the air after six flights over it. Spectacular. More later. I'm trying to convince my body it is not 0400.

PS I meant hair trailing from BRAID, but BRAIN is probably more accurate, so I left it.)

Nope to Culloden. This time we stayed in lowland Scotland and crossed on the ferry into Northern Ireland. In 2018, we went to the Highlands. Saw the sign for the entrance to Culloden historical area but opted for other adventures instead, not being in the mood to be overwhelmed by Outlander tourism. We spent a couple of days in Glasgow, one in Dumfries, a couple in the country near Kirkcolm, five perfect days on a farm south of Ballygally in Northern Ireland, and a couple of days in Edinburg. My daughter was ready to come home, pack up, and emigrate to Ochiltree. She may do it, too, once her husband gets US citizenship. She has always wanted to live overseas.

Yep to haggis and other delightful Scottish dishes, cullen skink being my absolute favorite, though I ate my share of deep fried fish as well.

Any blood pudding on the menu?
Often asked question: When are you going to think about getting a trike?

Not only no, but HELL no. I accidentally got a mouthful of blood sausage on my first trip to Ireland in 2007. It was the only time in my life I couldn't chew, much less swallow, a mouthful of food even to be polite.

Sorry, meant to say blood sausage. It's a must for breakfast. 8-)

Welcome back. Kat just got back from a similar trip to England, Scotland and Ireland.
Life is like riding a motorcycle. Balance is key, unless you’re at a stoplight and forget to put your feet down. Then, balance is just embarrassing.
