Old times & Old places.

Better 1/2 and I just got back from a few days at Colonial Williamsburg. Went there on our Honeymoon 50yrs. ago in the middle of an extremely hot July. Decided to go back in a very cold December, as my parents did (who we, there children, sent them for the 50'th anniversary) to see it decorated for and celebrating Christmas. And, while it wasn't Christmas Day dinner as they enjoyed, we did have dinner at the same location, Christiana Campbell's Tavern. If you've never been, Colonial Williamsburg is a very interesting, educational and fun place to visit. I enjoy watching the craftsman (the silver smith, the cooper, the blacksmith, the apothecary, the blacksmith, the bookbinder, the cooper and wheelmaker and many more) and learn 'how things were made 'back in the day'.

I remember going there about 40 years ago. Ok, memories are vague......very vague.

What I do remember is exactly the way you described it. Educational interesting and lots of fun. Couldn't tell you the name of it, but I recall eating at a tavern that had no electric lights, serving the exact same food they served 250 years ago. Good times indeed.

Glad you and the missus were able to enjoy it once again.
