Morning. Clear, windy, 68 degrees.
Three more full days, two more half days to go. I can stick a fork in my career as museum naturalist on 5:00 p.m. on May 30.

Nope. It took me four tries, but I retired from belly dance six or seven years ago after forty years of performing and/or teaching. Arthritis stopped dance a couple of years before it ended my riding days.
What I'm doing is writing. Last fall, I signed a contract with Kensington Publishing Corp. for a completed novel plus another one to be written by April 2025. The advance was equivalent to what I make at the museum in a year, so writing the second novel will be my day job for now. I'm about half done. The first book will go on pre-sale next March. I'm also going back to freelancing articles on art, history, and natural history. My chops are pretty decent so I'm hoping to find enough work to make it worthwhile.

Is this first book an autobiography?

Nope. Upmarket historical fiction (Vietnam era) that's being marketed as Southern gothic. My autobiography would be pretty dull.

With your museum experience maybe you should write a Dinosaur Egg Recipe Cookbook.
My sister is an author of children's books. That reminds me, I should post a link. I'll start another thread.

You're thinking of That Other Museum. I work for the wildlife museum.
I'll look forward to the link to your sister's books. I have two grandchildren.
