Morning everyone . . . :coffee:

58° and heading into the mid 90's most of the rest of the week.

Yes we had great horned owls the lived in the trees around the motel and the courthouse cupola, and they would silently swoop down and get the mice creeping about.
Had a guest looking up at the owl in a tree on the lawn at the motel one day and they got bombed. So never stand under the owl in the tree looking up.

Morning. Currently 59 with a predicted high of 92, which is officially Too Damn Hot.

The museum once got in a freshly expired great horned owl and I was the one who prepared her for a sojourn in the freezer until we could afford taxidermy. I have never felt anything so soft in all my life as that bird's feathers. Owls are remarkable creatures, even though one got our barn cat years ago.

I love the raptors. Hawks and owls are plentiful in this desert area.
Another 78-109 today.
