Morning everyone . . .
56° and heading up to 96°
In Lander we've been past the Dairyland place a few times, they advertise their famous "Cheese Wheels" so we stopped by to try them out. Well... a cheese wheel is a cooked hamburger patty with cheese melted on it, then dipped in their secret recipe batter then deep fried. It was different, I was thinking something along the lines of cheese curd or something.
Myself I would love to take the 4Runner out into red wall country, there is the ghost town of Kirwin out of Meeteetse that I've heard has a creek crossing.

Good morning. 109 yesterday. The neighbors are having their tile roof underlayment replaced. The poor workers are starting at first light and make it to noon before the heat brings the job to a halt. Going to be over 100 for the rest of the week. I am heading to Delaware tomorrow for a week.
A cheese wheel burger sounds great.

Morning. It's aready 74 degrees with a high of 96 predicted. Not my favorite temperature, but better than 109. When I worked at David and Sons, we were allowed to quit working in the field when it hit 108. On the university ranch, temperature didn't matter. Cultivating baby corn on an open tractor (no sissie air-conditioned cabs did we have) in 115 degree weather is at the top of my list of Descriptions of Hell.
The only time we tried to get to Kirwin, we came up against a locked gate. Spent the night on the mountain where it rained all night and most of the morning. When it finally stopped, we drove down the mountain on a river of mud... in a 1969 VW bug. I'd watched a 4 wheel drive truck turn back earlier. That bug was Da Bomb. On that trip, we found out exactly how steep a slope it could climb. Roy was driving and I was walking. When the bug started to tip, I jumped on the running board and balanced it out while Roy backed it down the road.
Good times. Amazing that we lived this long, considering some of the things we used to do.
