Sunday January 6th

:coffee: Morning everyone.

6°f and the snow started here around noon yesterday and we have about 2 - 3 inches, enough for the electric blower to move, still have to shovel more today.

Morning. 27 degrees and snow. Roy has to drive to Wind River Canyon this morning. Slick roads and fog around Waltman are concerning because 20-26 is a two lane highway and people are always in too big a hurry between Casper and Shoshoni. He's giving himself an extra hour for the trip. I'll be glad when he's back home, and he hasn't even left yet.

Yeah, I really don't get why people drive on snow/icy roads like it's dry pavement. And here in Wyoming on that road it's mostly locals and they still drive like that.
When I used to travel the "short cut" into Lake Tahoe CA/ NV state line area for my job I would watch the side streets really close for locals driving up to their STOP sign like it was dry summertime pavement. And I would compensate how I was driving so they could slide across the intersection with their wheels locked up. And ABS is trying to work, but that doesn't help on packed slick snow / ice.

A couple of years ago, my then-13-year-old grandson and I were headed east on on icy roads when a northbound car slid through a stop sign right in front of me. Car coming in the southbound lane. I steered around the still-sliding car and got back into my lane before the oncoming car passed. We drove in silence for a few seconds, then my grandson said, "All right, then." It was a proud moment for a girl who never saw snow until she was in her teens.

Happy Sunday!

Getting cold here
Life is like riding a motorcycle. Balance is key, unless you’re at a stoplight and forget to put your feet down. Then, balance is just embarrassing.
