Morning all . . . :coffee:

26° and still.

Couldn't get sub duty because of my eyesight, because "if there was a power outage, and the lights were out I wouldn't be able to find my way around in the dark if I couldn't find my glasses." But on my first ship, when the generators went off line and the lights went out the emergency lanterns (those square yellow hand spotlights you see in movies) would come on. The toe hanging ship was the Coral Sea CV 43.

Morning. 36 degrees, gray skies, and still. The snow melted yesterday, but spring has departed for the time being.

I looked up the Coral Sea CV 43 online. What a long and interesting history she had. In what era did you hang by your toes?

So people with 20-20 vision are better able to see in pitch-dark than those with less than perfect vision? Interesting.
